What’s bugging you? What makes you happy? Tell us about it.
To all the climate change deniers: 97 doctors say you have cancer, three say you don’t. I look forward to your refusing treatment and freeing up space in the Cross and Tom Baker clinics.
A half-page ad in the Journal last weekend for a Year End/Christmas promotion at your local Harley Davidson dealer. Nothing says “Peace on Earth, goodwill toward men” like your neighbour rumbling down the street on an obnoxiously loud motorcycle.
We are appalled at the vicious attacks and death threats to our premier and other MLAs over Bill 6. This is beyond disgusting. Alberta, we are sad to say, is once again the last to legislate protection. And Wildrose party, you should be ashamed of your role in this debacle.
Did Brian Jean get his training from Donald Trump?
It really saddens me to hear that we have terrorists right here in Alberta who threaten to kill politicians because they don’t agree with them. What is our society morphing into?
When it comes to Bill 6, I place a great deal more confidence in the opinions of those that actually live and work on farms than I do in those who do their farming on Whyte Avenue with a latte in their hand.
If the City of Edmonton either refuses or asks too much for the land protecting the view of the Alberta legislature, the provincial government should just expropriate it and give the city a taste of its own medicine.
The City has enough money to spend on building a downtown arena that is not wanted and not needed, but does not have enough money to fix the roads to get to said downtown arena.
Dear tropical vacation spots, I won’t be able to visit you in the near future. I have to pay for my carbon and groceries and the value of my oil and dollar keeps falling. Signed, average middle-class worker.
Alberta being ignored by the federal Liberals. Time for Alberta to join the U.S.
Predicted outcome of Mike Duffy trial? Prosecution lawyer: “Mr. Duffy, blah blah blah.” Defence lawyer: “Mr. Duffy, yadda yadda yadda.” Verdict: “Not guilty.” Mr. Duffy to the Senate: “Phew, we squeaked that one by, so start spending again.” This isn’t difficult to see coming.
Rachel, have the guts to carry on with your agenda. This is what we voted you in for. Some of the right-wingers voted you in because they were ultra fed up with the PCs and all the corruption. They’ll whine no matter what. Stay the course.
I’m concerned Justin Trudeau may get injured throwing himself in front of a camera.
The Blatchford development has many opportunities. I haven’t seen the detail on zoning for all buildings, but I hope there won’t be a single church, mosque or other place of worship allowed to operate tax-free. A truly visionary community should not include buildings or spaces that teach any religion, unless they want to pay taxes like all other businesses.
Bill 6 was long overdue as our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms would appear to require it in any case. Section 15 (equality rights) would be violated since all other provinces already have done this for their farm workers. People who have threatened some of our NDP MLAs because of Bill 6 are not Albertans.
Would the language police please make the meaningless words “going forward” illegal, with speech demerits and large fines?
Pickup trucks are the biggest menaces on the roads. The size of the truck appears to be inversely proportional to the size of the driver’s brain.
